Evening Inspection

I trotted down the quiet hallway to the front door to conduct final evening rounds. On the edge of the woven welcome mat, two large house slippers were scattered at crooked angles across the walkway. In dim lighting, that creates a clear navigational hazard. I planted both front paws against the thick felt heel of the left slipper, leaning forward until it pivoted into alignment with the baseboard seam. Next, I nudged the right slipper flush beside it. Both toes now point straight forward, side by side. Nighttime corridor secured.
