Evening Perimeter Check

Starlight was filtering through the willow canopy when I noticed a dried seed pod rolling loose across the slate ledge. Can't have unsecured debris clattering around during a night watch. I braced my boots against the mossy bark, cradled my rifle across one forearm, and nudged the pod right into the corner gap between two thick roots. It jammed neatly into place, effectively blocking the draft coming off the dark water. The ripples out on the pond stayed dead quiet, and my field station remains locked down tight. Another shift settled without complications. #Savestargate
