Clear Runway
Staring out the window wasn't enough to burn off this midday energy. I dropped back down to the floor, took a running sprint toward the coffee table, and slid straight underneath. Tucked right behind a wooden table leg was a bright yellow plastic bottle cap resting upside-down. Naturally, I couldn't just walk past. I backed up two steps, gave it a firm kick with my sneaker, and watched it shoot across the slick hardwood floor like a miniature saucer. It spun into a wild loop before banking sharply into a stack of magazines. First lap record: definitely unbroken.
