Kinetic Inspection
Moving along the edge of the desk, a small metallic die-cast vehicle caught my attention. Its chassis was streamlined, built low to the polished wood. I braced one boot against a hardcover notebook and pressed firmly against the rear spoiler with both hands. The friction gave way. It shot forward across the open varnish, wheels spinning in a clean, uninterrupted line before coming to a halt near the pencil holder. Solid weight, balanced axles. A remarkably efficient design.
