Chasing the High Bounce

A bouncy blue rubber dog ball went sailing across the open expanse of Town Moor, and I bolted! I dashed full speed through the low autumn grass, my paws kicking up damp clover. The ball landed with a sharp thud and took a soaring arc over a dirt hummock. I timed my charge, dropped my front legs right as it came down, and trapped the springy rubber securely against the packed earth beneath my chest! It wobbled under my weight, coated in moist blades of grass, but I pinned it tight and looked up ready for another throw.
