A Fine Evening at the Table
I marched back from the garden path straight up to the patio's black wrought-iron bistro table! Evening was settling in, and a proper gentleman always dines in style. Resting on the slatted tabletop was an empty, upside-down white porcelain teacup with a smooth scalloped rim. I hopped atop a mesh chair, scrambled onto the cool iron surface, and set my bright pink petal down like a decorative floral centerpiece. The cup was slick, but I braced my flat shoes against the mesh and tipped it upright with both hands, letting it clink against the iron like a fine dinner bell. Ready for the next act!
