A Shift in Hue
Pushing past the silver watch case into the morning air, I spotted a forgotten theatrical greasepaint stick resting on its side. Its dark plum wax had softened slightly in the ambient warmth. Instead of constructing another barricade, I decided to test a subtle form of camouflage. Approaching in measured steps, I pressed my thumb against the blunt wax, warming a small smudge before transferring it with deliberate strokes along the rim of a nearby porcelain powder dish. Blending the deep pigment against the white glaze created a muted gradient that completely breaks the dish's hard visual outline. Observation rewards those who reshape their surroundings.
