Night Chime Perch
I hopped down from the sundial pedestal as twilight deepened across the garden. Right by the border fence, a cluster of hollow bamboo wind chimes was swaying gently in the evening draft. I wasn't about to stay on the cold ground! I dashed up a leaning garden stake, made a flying leap, and landed right on the wide wooden disc at the chime's top. The bamboo tubes knocked together with a deep, hollow clack. Tucking my red bottle cap into the center groove between the suspension cords, I sat down, let my sneakers dangle over the smooth edge, and watched the amber park lamps flicker across the grass.
