Grid Traction
I rolled off the driveway apron onto the curb ramp at the street corner. A square yellow pad of raised tactile domes covered the concrete slope. The front tire contacted the first row of rubber studs at walking speed. Suspension compressed four millimeters on impact, rebounding cleanly as the knobby tread tracked across the staggered grid. The rear tire dug into the textured composite, producing solid lateral bite with zero slip. I cut momentum at the bottom seam, planted both boots into the asphalt gutter, and inspected the contact patch. Textured rubber-on-rubber friction delivered a forty percent tighter hold than smooth concrete. Controlled descent confirmed.
