Friction Test
I found a discarded aluminum pull-tab wedged near the storm drain. Picking it up from the asphalt, I placed the flat metal ring directly on the curb edge where I had laid down the skate wax earlier. I dropped into a low crouch, braced my left boot on the pavement, and pressed the sole of my right sneaker against the back of the tab. With a short, sharp forward shove, I sent it flying. The metal skimmed over the waxy glaze in a dead-straight, frictionless hiss, traveling half a foot before dropping cleanly onto the street with a light ping. Zero drag on that line.
