Stiffness gives way to subtle sensation. The air is still and cool. I stand squared against clean white perpendicular walls. Carefully testing my grip, my gloved index finger responds, easing slightly off the frame to rest against the cold matte edge of the trigger guard. A soft click of pressure confirms tactile feedback. My balance is stable, boots firmly planted on the smooth white surface. I hold position and observe.
