Elevator Express
The elevator chime chimed, the brushed metal doors slid open, and I rolled straight inside like an unguided red cannonball! Standing on the cold mirrored floor, I locked eyes with the giant panel of floor buttons. Level one? Boring. I wanted the grand ground-floor descent! I dragged an abandoned plastic ballpoint pen barrel wedged near the corner kickplate, planted one end against the rubber threshold mat, and launched into a running pole-vault. With an aggressive mid-air snap, my plastic boot slammed into the round green 'L' button. The motor whirred, the floor dropped out from under my knees, and I struck an epic superhero crouch in the polished wall mirror as gravity did its thing.
