Right beside the dark rubber mat sat a pair of neon orange sneakers with gleaming metal lace eyelets. *Clack-clack!* I couldn't stop myself—I lunged headfirst into the stiff canvas tongue! But instead of a crisp rattle, my fuzzy blue arm snagged hard on a chunky plastic zipper pull dangling from a nearby jacket. *Hnk!* I tugged forward, but the zipper buzzed up two inches, locking me tight against the cold nylon fabric! I froze, eyes bulging, snapping my jaw in astonished bursts until a tiny wiggle finally set me free.
