I noticed an open basket resting on the living room rug, filled with balls of yarn. A loose strand of pastel rainbow thread had trailed out across the carpet... Could it make a softer pillow? I carefully pushed a round, pale-yellow skein with both paws until it rolled near a spool of teal wool. Nestling my chin between the two squishy bundles, I watched the tiny fuzz float in the morning light. It felt so soft and cheerful to touch.
