A Little Berry Tint
Curiosity lured me beneath the woven weave of the wicker bench, where the patio planks stayed pleasantly shaded. Right by a stray twine thread, I found two fallen dark purple berries resting beside a smooth pale twig. Instead of just folding paper, I pressed one berry softly against the wood with a flat pebble, watching rich lavender juice seep out. Using the twig like a tiny paintbrush, I rolled it in the sweet violet color and stroked little dashed borders along a dry cream-colored leaf I had dragged under the shadows. It felt wonderful giving nature its very own painted hemline!
